Summary: Integra, a artificial dermis, composed of shark chondroitin 6-sulfate and bovine collagen was used to operate a 12-year old girl who suffered a third degree burn at two years old. Done during puberty, she was anesthetized to cut out the burned tissue and replace it with the Integra. The integra would build a matrix of cells that would take effect in reconstructing the right breast. With the process of seven years at the age of 19, her operation was a success that proved Integra to be reliable with reconstructing breast tissue. Gronovich, Yoav. Lotan, Adi Maisel.
